Interviewing - Scheduling

The interviewing process involves several distinct steps:

    Preparation

    Scheduling

    Opening Conference

    Conducting Interviews

    Closing Meeting

    Recording

In scheduling interviews, two items need to be considered:

    Location

    Time

When deciding on a meeting location, take into consideration:

    Confidentiality necessary

    Distractions

Some general guidelines relative to the best time to schedule an interview include:

Do not schedule the meeting to last longer than one hour

Early morning meetings generally are good, BUT not before scheduled starting time

Meetings after lunch can be productive

Do NOT schedule meetings for late in the day

Do NOT schedule meetings late on Friday

Do NOT schedule meetings before or immediately following a holiday or a clients vacation

    Also, consider factors affecting concentration:

    Noise

    Time of day

    Complexity

    Pace of meeting
